What is Bio-Microneedling?

Bio-Microneedling uses tiny natural microneedles from freshwater sponges to gently stimulate the skin, these are called spicules. These micro-needles activate skin cells, boost circulation, and allow active ingredients to absorb deeply.

Before Care

 

Before your treatment, please advise your therapist of any treatments prior to your booking. Please stop any applications of BHA or AHAs 7 days prior to your treatment also please if you can come with a makeup free on the day of your treatment to allow your skin to stabilise and rest overnight.

 

Postpone treatment if:

  • No waxing, treading or face laser hair removal 10 days before treatment
  • No chemical peels, skin needling or strong exfoliants 3-4 weeks before treatment.
  • Wait 4 weeks if you’ve had face fractional laser or pico laser
  • Wait 4 weeks if you’ve had fillers
  • Wait 10 days if you’ve had Botox

 

This treatment is not suitable for people with:

  • Active eczema, psoriasis or dermatitis on the face or neck.
  • Scleroderma
  • Fungal infections
  • Scars less than 6-month-old
  • Sunburn
  • Taking oral or topical Roaccutane or High dose Vitamin A
  • Have face threads

After Care

 

  • Avoid excessive exercise and sweating for 48 hours.
  • Avoid swimming for 48 hours.
  • Avoid saunas, spas and tanning for 7 days.
  • No BHA, AHA or Retinols for 7 days.
  • Avoid the Sun for the first 24 hours, on day 2 SPF can be applied.
  • Avoid makeup for the first 24 hours.

 

What happens after the treatment:

Following your treatment, do not touch your skin or cleanse it for the first 24 hours. It is normal for the skin to feel flushed, itchy and warm followed by a slight prickling sensation (this is the treatment working). Use your take home pack sequential mask (don’t forget to put your sequential mask in the fridge before use).

To also relief these symptoms, you could splash your face with cool water. We also suggest purchasing GERnetic Synchro or Cold cream to help the skins barrier and helps with dryness.

On day 2 you may experience the same symptoms, do not be alarmed, it is normal. Acne clients may also experience some purging, this is normal. Resume your normal skin care routine of cleanse, moisturiser (either synchro or cold cream) and your take home pack repair gel.

After 72 hours, the spicules will have naturally fallen out of the skin and your skin may start to peel (its normal for thicker or oily skin not to peel).  Your skin may feel tight, and we suggest using a gentle exfoliant such as Nimue exfoliating enzyme.

By day 7 you may start to introduce your normal skincare routine and actives such as retinol.

We recommend that not cleansing or wearing makeup for 3 days, this keeps the spicules within the skin longer giving you the best results.
