As one of the most effective hair removal methods available, waxing is a treatment that everyone can successfully experience.
ABOUT OUR WAXING
At Leah’s Waxworks, we provide safe, hygienic and precise waxing treatments for the face and body that deliver both immediate and long-lasting results. We are unique in that we tailor both our technique and the type of wax used to you and your specific needs. We use three different waxes to ensure you get the best results, and the smoothest skin, with every visit.
- For general waxing on the arms, legs and other larger surface areas on the body, our therapists use a top quality soft, hypoallergenic strip wax.
- For skin that is very sensitive, we use a warm wax that is gentle on the epidermis but highly effective in gripping and removing the hair. We can use this on any part of the body, except legs and arms, if you would prefer. However, it works best on longer hair.
- For very delicate areas including under arms, eyebrows, lip and other facial waxing, as well as Brazilian, we have a special rose wax formula, created by Leah created to meet her clients’ unique needs. It is an exclusive blend of pharmaceutical grade oils, bees wax and chamomile extract, which provides superior grip in these sensitive areas and ensures the best possible results, with minimal pain or irritation. Should you still wish us to use hot wax, we can do so without sensitivity or irritation.

Prior to waxing, we use an anti-bacterial skin-prep spray to clean the area. Waxing is done using one-use wooden spatulas. Once your waxing treatment is complete, we apply a refreshing and soothing formula, which combines almond oil and lavender and chamomile essential oils, to both calm the skin and remove any residual wax.

Foundation is available for all facial waxing treatments, should you wish to cover any redness.
How often will I need a treatment?

This will vary depending on your individual growth pattern and rate of growth.

The hair on our bodies grows in cycles and each individual hair has its own growth phase, so it’s impossible to always remove all the hair evenly during the same treatment.

If you’re new to waxing, you might need to have your first couple of treatments a bit closer together, say about three weeks apart.

After a while, you will be able to space these treatments further apart and with continued regular professional waxing treatments, the hair growth will slow down. Eventually, you should safely be able to spread your appointments at four to six-week intervals.
Before Your Waxing Treatment

To ensure your best results with minimal discomfort, we suggest you do the following:
- Exfoliate the skin in the area you are having waxed the day before your appointment. This allows for better grip and also reduces the possibility of ingrown hairs.
- Don’t over-trim the area. The wax needs some length to grip. Your therapist can complete any trimming that is necessary.
- Wash the area well prior to waxing, but don’t apply moisturiser, especially if it is scented or perfumed. Turn up for your treatment clean, dry and free from products and fragrance.
- Ask our staff for a disposable G-string and/or gown if you are concerned that wax may get on your clothing. Leah’s Waxworks takes all care but holds no responsibility for wax dripping on your clothing.
After Your Waxing Treatment

- Always use a soothing gel or antiseptic cream on the area waxed
- Avoid any fragranced soaps and/or perfumed moisturisers
- Try to avoid sweating or over perspiring for 24hours (avoid the gym!)
- Wear loose, flowing clothing and avoid anything tight fitting
- Avoid wearing pantyhose and stockings
- Avoid sanitary pads with wings, as these can sometimes cause chafing to the freshly waxed bikini area
Ingrown Hair Solutions

With any waxing treatment, there is a risk of ingrown hairs. This is because the hair is growing back softer, weaker and finer, so isn’t able to push through the skin as readily as it did before.

Add to this, skin that might not be exfoliated, and ingrown hairs can quickly develop.

Follow these tips and consider buying one of our incredible ingrown hair formulas.
- Cleanse and exfoliate the skin at least 24hours before waxing
- Cleanse the skin daily and exfoliate once a week to prevent build up of dead cells
- Keep the area well moisturised to avoid dry, scaly skin inhibiting hairs from pushing through the surface
- If you had red hair and suffer from ingrown hairs, a course of three laser sessions will help clear the skin and soften the hair.

Eyebrow Wax and Shape

With eyebrows, we apply the wax in sections, removing it using our special calico strips, which provide the best grip and the cleanest, most pain-free removal. The treatment finishes with selective tweezing to remove any stray strands and trimming to reshape and refine your brows.
Basic Eyebrow Wax (Fluff/Minimal hair)

With eyebrows, we apply the wax in three sections the middle and underneath both brows, removing it using our special calico strips, which provide the best grip and the cleanest, most pain-free removal. The treatment finishes with a quick tweeze to remove any stray strands. This eyebrow wax is only suitable for minimal/fluff hair.
